Computer Science Masters Graduate School Admission Results

Well, at least I got offers from 2 other schools. This ends the season for me. UT Austin hasn't emailed yet, but my hopes are slim. Shame though, I really wanted this program... I should start studying now instead of brooding, I need my career going in the right direction. My enemy is from within; I should strive to be a better person than yesterday.

I haven't heard back at all....game over isn't it? Will they still do acceptances?

Anyone else who hasn't received any emails and whose status still says "To Dept For Review" on the portal? I'm guessing this probably means I'm rejected or waitlisted :(

I got offer early this week and today I emailed to the office and received an automatic response as follows. Hope this helps for those who are waiting another wave of admissions. I want to meet you all at Columbia in this Fall. ------- "please note that decisions are expected to go out starting the end of March. While some decisions have been released, we expect the bulk of decisions to be rendered by April 6th."

Undergrad in CS from BITS Pilani. 0 paper publications. Will probably not go for it and choose UWMadison instead. All the best to others waiting.

Maybe now that the undergraduate decisions are out, they can start figuring out the decisions for the Msc program. I honestly don't get why they take so long with decisions for the Msc program. Do they also estimate base on the expected undergraduate class size?

It seemed the ranking change from 25th to 20th in usnews has screwed up their brains. They'll back where they were next year. I has 2 international pubs and from a top NIT.

Email to check website. Rejected for the MSc in Data Science but received an offer for MSc in Applied Urban Science and Informatics.

CSE Undergrad at an old IIT, CGPA 9.4, major GPA 9.57, GRE 331, TOEFL 115, very relevant coursework, Multiple research experiences, good LORs, no publications, field is theory. Very disappointed that there is no funding. The funding description on the department webpage looks dubious now. "Most of our Masters students are funded", "The admission letter you will receive will contain a formal funding offer. If you are a great student, you will get a great offer." Would not have applied if not for such a description. Already have much better offers. :)

To the poster asking about my profile: CS bachelor from top Asian university with overall grade A-(~US 3.7) in our scale, no research experience, some project experience, fairly good recommendation letters and (possibly) well-written SOP. Applied on the last day, 15th Jan, but official transcripts only arrived end of Jan.
