Computer Science Masters Graduate School Admission Results

Email to check portal. Disappointed and worried.

To the poster below I have applied for computer vision. Here is their email: "The majority of our admissions are now done however the final decision will be made April 23rd."

To the poster below- I also submitted my application in January and haven't heard anything from them. I would imagine we are on kind of an unofficial waitlist and they are just seeing who doesn't accept their offer before deciding about us. I am going to GaTech already though so their loss

I feel they've delayed it for far too long now. I waited quite patiently but then finally accepted an offer from UCSD. Your loss Columbia

Got email back about when to expect final decisions today: "Your application is still under review at this time. We appreciate the time and effort you spent in preparing your application and want to assure you that the faculty admissions committee is working very hard to give each application careful attention. While there isn't an exact date, the department hopes to finalize decisions this month. We will contact you via email as soon as a decision is entered on your application."

I've just received an answer via email, saying that if I haven't heard anything from them yet is because my application is still in consideration.

To the poster below who the UBC reply, thanks for the note. What do they mean by "still in consideration?" Does it mean waitlisted or not reviewed at all yet? Thanks.

Answering the last post. I've asked the Grad Program Support from CS Department. I'm not sure if that means whitelisted or not reviewed yet. But they also said that decisions will continue to be made until the program is full, usually end of April or early May.

Not surprised about the result, but really shocking that they took so long to give a reject and no reason for the reject.

1 IEEE research paper, tier-1 Indian university, okay GPA, good LORs, 1.5 years work ex. I actually considered Purdue to be moderately safe. Guess I was wrong. Never mind, going to Georgia Tech anyway!

We received over 700 applications and were only able to offer admissions to about 10% of those who applied. You will receive official notification from The Graduate School in a few days.

I have heard from a source that most people will be notified by 2 weeks but it will mostly be rejections... those that don't hear back after that will be on some kind of wait list or are being held for unknown reasons...

Just reject me already
