MFA Graduate School Admission Results

Applied during the extension between 12/21 - 1/5. Portfolio was decently strong with semi-related work experience and great refs. Are others still waiting to hear anything? Should I assume no interview offer or word as of yet means it's a rejection?

Yikes. I click on "Decision Status" and see "Unfortunately your application into M.F.A. in Writing Seminars has been denied." You would think a WRITING DEPARTMENT would find a more thoughtful way to break the news. Bleh.

I had given up hope but even a waitlist email is exciting!!!!!

What about NYU Fiction notifications, anyone? It seems all comments relate to Poetry.

Got an email this morning to check activity page. Still waiting to hear back from NYU but this is amazing.

Waitlisted my 2nd year in a row at NYU, though my sample was conservatively 10000 times better than last. This shit is confusing.

had to email the program director to find out and he said letters will be sent out sometime next week - pretty rude to just be sitting on decisions when west coast schools acceptance declaration starts on April 1 3a/0w/2r/2p

To the UNLV posters, it seems there are different streams of information going out. I emailed and was told that all accepted individuals have been notified already and that two have accepted their offers of the 5 spaces available. So i don't understand why other posters have been told differently. They did say as well that they try to notify those rejected AFTER the acceptance notifications. Don't want to ruin anyone's day, but false hopes are worse. Right? In any case you and me both hope i'm wrong; you know, hope that i was fed bad information.

To both of the UNLV folks - I think that poetry went out a while ago -- I saw a post in Feb, but Fiction and CNF are definitely still waiting to hear back.

Anybody out there still waiting to hear or heard from painting and drawing or printmaking??

I called the admissions office to see when they would start notifications, and she told me that they had a very large number of applicants for painting this year, so it's going to be two or three more weeks before they send out notifications. Makes me think my chances are lowered with so many applicants, but I would just like to know.

I'm still waiting. I emailed a couple days ago, but I haven't heard back. My interview wasn't very good, so I'm not expecting to get in, but I want to cross this off my list.

I could have written your post myself. Was that for painting? Either way I just want to know already! Lol

I'm the one below that said I emailed a couple days ago. I just called and was told that they had made offers to other students but were waiting to hear back from them. She then told me I was first on the waitlist. But it doesn't really matter because I've already been accepted to other schools that are better. And this was for a painting emphasis.
