I just declined my offer at Emerson as well as my 12K scholarship. Hopefully this helps someone on the waitlist for admission or someone waiting for funding.

Generic Email. 3r/0a/0w I only applied to 3 programs, so this is it for me this year. This is my first year applying so I will be applying again. It is all quite disheartening but is potentially fodder for something more poetic....

I got an email this morning directing me to check my admission status on the website. Thrilled to have gotten in with 25% scholarship, but NYU is offering me 50%. 7a/7r/2w

I was accepted to Columbia last year and ... declined. Among published writers who teach there, it's not that well regarded, mostly as a sinecure not as prestigious. To the person who pointed out the rigor (60 units vs. 25 --) that maybe not accurate comparison since it's also three and up to five years plus... HOUSING. Is this "whining"? Or, folks trying to articulate the pointlessness of trying to get ahead vis a vis schools that don't / won't / cant' offer post-graduate employment or, if publication, only probably far down the road? These are ***contests*** people, & the whiff of desperation that you smell here is something like Vegas around 4 a.m. ... cause not everyone's a winner and, sorry to burst your bubble, the game is rigged.

Some people can afford the cost of tuition and already live in the city.

Looks like a lot of us got waitlisted. Still hoping to make it!
