Counseling, Clinical, And School Psychology, University Of California, Santa Barbara Ignore waitlist status! I was wondering if anyone who had interviewed with UCSB for the combined counseling, clinical, school psychology PhD program had heard back? Its been weeks now so I am wondering if at this point I should just accept the silence as a soft rejection. p.s. wishing all of us going through this process luck, strength, and patience (but also timely responses) :)

Physics, University Of California, San Diego TOEFL - 113, from an Indian Institute (not IITs, but one of the ones ) This is my #3 school! I was interviewed ~ 3 weeks ago. Getting accepted is a real relief as I've only applied to 5 schools. Waiting on UCSB(#2) and MIT(#1) now.

Anthropology, University Of California, Santa Barbara Automated email notification to check portal. Rejection letter was fairly standard. MA GPA is around 3.97. Sociocultural Anthro track. Outside of one POI, UCSB was not the strongest fit for me. 0a/1i/1r/15p

Computer Science, New York University Went to the waitlist in the first round and got the offer literally on the second last day. This is my top choice so definitely worth it. I feel super lucky because though I have 3 periods of research experience, I have absolutely no publication. I had strong recommendation letters, and I guess they are the sole element that got me here. Also, my prof is a first-year AP. That also made the application somehow easier. Also received offer from UCSB PhD and Brown MS, which are both very nice. But I prefer the NYU group and the big-city vibe in NYC.

Computer Science, University Of California, Santa Barbara TTPB: That's what I'm assuming. Considering they accept 20-40 MSCS applicants per year and how bizarre this year's cycle has been, I strongly feel that they're done accepting people who had UCSB as a safety and have better offers.
