- Went to the waitlist in the first round and got the offer literally on the second last day. This is my top choice so definitely worth it. I feel super lucky because though I have 3 periods of research experience, I have absolutely no publication. I had strong recommendation letters, and I guess they are the sole element that got me here. Also, my prof is a first-year AP. That also made the application somehow easier. Also received offer from UCSB PhD and Brown MS, which are both very nice. But I prefer the NYU group and the big-city vibe in NYC.
