Still in review, I guess I might actually get my result in June.

it seems they even had history of sending out admits in June....

My application is also under review. I think it only comes from their low-efficiency process, so I guess I will get a rejection in next week.

TTPB: Agreed MILA is great!.... but in MILA University of Montreal is leading institute at MILA, that's why their ranking in CS has improved tremendously over the last 2-3 years. UofA on the other hand has the largest CS department in Canada and almost all of their faculty are specializing in AI/ML.

TTPB: Who had asked about UT Austin acceptance. Here is my profile: 3.81/4.00 ( final 2 years - 4.0/4.0) from a top 20 state school, Had taken nearly 5 advanced graduate courses during my undergrad. Had a very strong LOR from my Departmental chair (this played an important role). 2 yrs SWE. Had done plenty of large scale real world projects (over 15 of them). To be honest UofA is much better in CS than McGill ( Especially in AI and ML it is a World Leader, right up there with any other university).

Its been a long time that my status is In Review and I haven't received their decision yet.

TTPB: The poster who got an admit from UT Austin, can you please share your profile, I am very heartbroken from Austin, reject as I thought my profile was pretty strong. Also I got a reject from. McGILL, really disappointed, I will be probably heading to Alberta now !

I am not even sure that they looked into the profiles carefully. They basically moved the file "in review" a couple of days back and then sent out the rejecting. I am just surprised with the way admissions was handled. And surprising thing is CS at McGill is not even amongst the best in Canada (UoT, UBC, Waterloo, UofA and Simon Fraser are better). Have already accepted offer from UT Austin, and will be heading there. The only reason I applied was because the facebook AI lab but I have heard they are not even accepting new students.

Disappointed with the way they handled the whole admission process. I hope no one has to go through this. Hopefully you guys have already got other offers. Good luck for everything.
