TTPB: Which department you did apply? it depends on that?

I submitted my application for a PhD in Engineering on Feb 20. It has been 8 weeks now and my status is still "Under Review by the Department". Can I assume that I have already been rejected?

Hi, has anyone heard from Rowan Williams Studentship and/or Islamic Development Bank Masters Scholarship Programme? Best of luck to every applicant.

To posters asking about AHRC funding (the OOCTP). I'm afraid that I managed to get in touch, after much perseverance, and have been informed that successful applicants have been notified. At the time, some two weeks ago, they told me that some additional awards would be made (basically in the event that people turned down the funding). If you have yet to hear about these, it's likely that you haven't made it. You also probably saw the grad admissions offer email yesterday, saying that over 300 scholarships had already been given. I think Cam Trust has given around half of these (see website), including the Cambridge International awards. They normally seem to give around 500 (you can good Cam Trust annual report to see stats). This means there will still be some more Cam Trust money given out. This will mainly be until the end of May. I don't know if there has been any delay in Cam Trust funding. It is certainly possible, but the email seemed to suggest that everything is on time.

To the Modern European History Masters student who answered my previous question on the OCCDP studentship: Do you know how long ago Oxford people were notified? Did they give them an approximate timeline? Thank you! :)

TTPB: Oxford has notified its offer holders that the OOCDP competition (PGR Applicants) will take longer than usual this year to finalise its results. However, they have said it is due to staff illnesses. So I'm not sure how the bureaucratic process works, whether there is one panel for all three unis or if each uni has its own panel which would make this information irrelevant to Cambridge. Even so, bear in mind that the university strikes at Cambridge interrupted the admissions process (by at least two weeks), and so I think that everything at Cambridge is delayed this year. I am not someone from the inside though, so I'm not exactly in the know—I'm just commenting based on some basic observations. Hope it helps :)

Does someone know anything about funding for the Humanities? When will we be notified if we have received funding, for instance the OOCDP studentship?

Offer conditional on getting a First (>70%). Have 3 research project experiences (2 in hep-th and one in optical theory) and a coauthored paper in review (optical theory). bad/okay grades in Years 1 & 2 (~65%) but then an 83% average in Term 1 of Year 3. Basically not all hope is lost if you get bad grades earlier in your degree! (wish someone told me this while I applied)

Original GPA is 4.17/4.30 (Pure Mathematics). Have participated to prestigious international programs such as Lindau Nobel Laureate meetings. One publication not much related to Theoretical Physics. Applied for hep-th/gr-qc at DAMTP. External applicant (i.e. without doing part III). Interviewed on Jan/29/2020. Sadly the faculty who interviewed me didn't take any students this year.
