Just wanted to send a friendly message to everyone! I am an adjunct professor and I got into Phd at Marquette last year but declined. This cycle was HORRIBLE! most schools are only accepting 2 people. The funding is bad and department's are moving away from political research as well. I did not get in anywhere this year. Please do not take it as a reflection of your worth, academia is BRUTAL. you could do all the conferences, hard work, be an amazing theorist or writer and still not get in because of university politics.
