TTPB (who was rejected today): Did you receive an email notification? If so, when?

Not WL. If they release the admits all at once, then I guess can only be reject if you haven't heard anything.

TTPB who is being a complete hater: it's interesting that the minority individual who got accepted listed all of their rad accomplishments, but the only thing that you focused on is the fact that they are part of a minority group. Maybe your small-minded thinking played a role in your rejection.

Rejected, heard that the class size is less than half due to covid deferrals. TTPB stop hating on people because they're an underrepresented minority. Work harder and try to become a better person

Same as the person who shared 'copy-paste email from EECS admission chair saying I've been waitlisted along with ~50 others across EECS subareas. EECS apply portal is still blank.' I wonder when they will send out the final results. It says in the email that they will do it in March, but still they initially claimed results would be out in early March...

No publications, but research project experience. Top 10 CS program, 6 internships, LoR from a well-known professor in deep learning, a top-level engineer who was my mentor at an internship, and a non-CS PhD candidate who instructed one of my courses. TA for a graduate level ML course for 4 semesters, leadership positions in student government and a cultural club. 90th percentile GRE quant, 92nd percentile GRE verbal. Several scholarships during undergrad. Not sure how much this matters, but I am a member of an underrepresented minority group.

Human-Computer Interaction track. Non-CS undergrad (Economics) from an average institution. 3.6 GPA. Average GRE quant score; above average GRE verbal score. 5 years full-time work experience as a Software Engineer at Disney, Amazon and PayPal. Strong letters of rec from tech execs at well-known companies (1 CTO, 1 Tech SVP and 1 Engineering Manager).

Received the email around 1:00 PM. Applied previously but didn't get in -- today feels like a dream. Multiple years of work experience at a FAANG, undergrad in Canada.

Super excited, it´s now between UT Austin, CMU and hopefully Stanford as well

I think Stanford does release a wave of admits first and then rejects based on previous years posts on gradcafe.

Does anyone know if Stanford sends out admits and rejects separately? I've not received any update yet. I assume that means I'm rejected

Didn't get an official rejection but saw all the accepts on the forum. Super bumped. I have 2 papers at Tier A NLP conferences (EMNLP, ACL), LORs from senior researchers in the fields, but still, I have got 3/3 rejections. Others being CMU and UIUC.

International applicant from India. Cannot believe it. Whaaaat? Oh my god!

1 published paper in top ML conference. Strong academics/GRE. Strong LOR all from industry contacts (~7 years work experience). I think what helped the most, however, was an unusual SOP. My background is doing software in public sector/nonprofit. Long-term goal is to improve government. Lots of extracurrics that show this (i.e. serving on city committees). My SOP about my public sector goals may have been unusual compared to most applicants.

Not waitlist. Did anyone get a status update today?
