No interview was given, I was surprised that they gave me an offer without an interview!

‘Informal-ish’ Skype chat with the professor. MS from Illinois with two papers. Decision would come in February.

To the poster below, I graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering from a pretty well known program in America. I had a 3.90 GPA, GRE verbal 168, quantitative 163, AW 4.5. I have worked in consulting on some pretty innovative projects the past 3 years. I had 3 strong letters of recommendation, and I highlighted my experience as a technical writer in my SOP. Good luck!

summer admission

Environmental Engineering major from outside USA, 4 years research experiences, 5 published papers (2 1st authors, one is very competitive jornal), 3 strong LORs (one is very very strong letter from IVY, research collaborator and submitted paper to top journal together few days ago), contacted POI after submitting my application and had 2 times interview. I guess my very strong research background and publications covered my poor GRE score. I had a strong belief that GRE verbal score is not really important and thus didn't waste my time for it.
