Really difficult interview on April 6th but was surprised that the interviewer was happy about it. He also said that he'll give a strong recommendation right at the end of the interview. Got offers from CMU and ETH as well, currently leaning towards CMU 90% because I'm in love with AI.

4/4 Rejects, only admit was from Brown deferred from Fall 2021

TTPB: I'm from the old portal too. Nothing has been got updated. Never. It just feels like that I'm through away and forgotten.

Ignore waitlist. Has anybody recieved any communication regarding their application status or did anybody contact the department? There has been complete silence from their side.

Has anyone with reactivated applications heard anything? I have a reactivated application from last year (on the old portal) and it's been silent so far since submitting. Sigh.

TTPB who got admit from USC, were you on waitlist prior to getting the admit.

ttpb: Congrats on your admit! did you receive any email on 14th an the decision was posted today?

Was frequently checking the website (a couple of times everyday) and this time there was a notification. Although the date says 14th May, the decision wasn't there yesterday. Best of luck everyone.

TTPB: So this majority by June sounds so much similar to their update saying majority decisions by April end! What about finding roommates and housing (As I've seen many people have already booked their apartments). What about emergency visa slots? With the other admit I have, I'll be eligible to apply for that by 15th June and I am still not able to find a single slot for that purpose since 1 week. So, I'll even have to wait for the final i20 of USC. I submitted my financial documents but when I contacted them, they said they'll just add it to my application and once I get an admit, they'll take upto 2 weeks to verify them and after that a week to get an i20. While the people who already have USC's i20 will be eligible to apply for emergency slots by 10th June. DAMNNNN IT!!! With this reputation, the management really sucks there! This really shows how highly they regard the international students are willing to pay lakhs of rupees to study over there.

Contacted one of the viterbi officials today. He said they'll try and release majority of waitlist decisions by 1st june as and when people drop their seats. But they can even release the decisions in June and July as they've kept the deposit deadline as 2nd June. Tbh, narrow chances of admit and no point waiting more as the embassies aren't opening much visa slots since past 10 days. Hardly a few could get one slot and even the emergency slots would be affected.

looks like I was not the only to come to gradcafe and post my result. got accepted from Columbia, there was a status update and was asked to check the same. congratulations to the person who posted before me. Any groups for Columbia?

This was completely unexpected. I had prepared myself for another grueling year but this came as a pleasant surprise. I got rejected from the PhD program, so will have to bear the cost of MS.
