The difference makers for me were my Letters of Recommendation. I had worked with all three of my letter writers (two tenured professors and one professor of practice). My other boon was contacting the professor I wanted to work with ahead of time. We had a really good conversation on Zoom about her work and how I was a good fit for her group. Having a high GPA, forward-focused SoP, and research-heavy resume, etc. were all helpful, but the above two were easily the difference makers here. | ||||

Totally disappointed and surprised as well. over 100 applied for just 15 seats. Applied for MEng winter 2021 intake. Application submitted on August 31st, Application completed on September 2nd. Construction Management specialization. 4 internships, 1 publication, 1 conference paper, 5 projects, Dean list's honor, cGPA: 3.74, last semester GPA: 3.96, Domestic applicant did undergrad outside Canada. I only couldn't submit my IELTS on time. So, the lesson is never to submit your application without meeting the minimum (even if they say) + don't apply for Winter. I wish good luck to everyone who applied! | ||||
