- The difference makers for me were my Letters of Recommendation. I had worked with all three of my letter writers (two tenured professors and one professor of practice). My other boon was contacting the professor I wanted to work with ahead of time. We had a really good conversation on Zoom about her work and how I was a good fit for her group. Having a high GPA, forward-focused SoP, and research-heavy resume, etc. were all helpful, but the above two were easily the difference makers here.
