Got email at 1 am to check portal. This one bummed me out.

Short and simple, if a bit impersonal rejection

Masters degree, 3.9 GPA, multiple publications/conferences

GPA is MA

To the person asking about updates on NYU: I posted about the interview -- I had my interview about two weeks ago, and I'm still waiting to hear back on a decision. They didn't give me an exact timeline for the decision, just that it would take a couple of weeks. This is my second time applying to NYU American Studies. The first time I didn't get an interview. I don't know if they are doing staggered interviews, but what I do know is that they are notorious for taking a long time to send out rejection letters. The first time, I didn't hear back until April 1, after sending out multiple emails asking for a decision. The only reason I knew I had been rejected back then was because I saw someone post on social media that they had been accepted into the program.

IGNORE INTERVIEW RESULTS - I am posting to see if anyone has heard about NYU American studies. I saw one post that someone had an interview, but wondering if all hope has been lost if I haven't been contacted for interview. PLEASE if anyone had insignt let me know🙏🏼

email from grad advisor telling me I am on the waitlist and if I want to remain on it or not. Not sure how many people are waitlisted!

Expected, it didn't fit my research interests. 3a, 2r, 1 waiting (anyone heard from UDub?)
