Suprised with the decision

5th reject so far :( Feels like grad school isn't for me.

From a tier 1.5 Indian University. One research paper in an international conference, one best presentation award at a national conference. 9.5 GPA, 116 TOEFL, 335 GRE, three internships, two software engineering and one data science. 9 rejects and 2 acceptances to UChicago and USC so far.

Are all rejects offered this generic message? Is this Online program better than USC on campus program? We want to share that beginning in fall 2019, we will partner with the edX online learning platform to launch a new professional, online master's program, enabling us to serve more students. The launch of this program is in direct response to the limited number of seats available in our on-campus program relative to demand for those seats. We hope you will take this opportunity to learn more about the new program and apply at https://www.cs.utexas.edu/msonline

Tier 1.5 undergrad from India. Mentioned mostly ML/AI in SoP. Few projects. No formal research experience.

Eh, we all know they don't accept students with a CGPA lesser than 9.

Rejected from phd then ms... congrats to all those who made it.

Thrilled. Have a comparable MS admit. F*ck you Austin :)

Shocked. Applied for PhD/MS and rejected by both. Already admitted to a comparable PhD program.

2 first-author CVPR publication. Still rejected. Thrilled.

That's a bummer.
