Saw form rejection letter in the application portal, ouch

Got rejected with a passion. This is my second time apply. Good Luck to those that accepted and cure cancer. After careful review, I regret to inform you that the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is unable to take favorable action on your application to the Program in Population Health Sciences. The number of promising applicants well exceeded the number of offers of admission we can make for the 2020-2021 academic year. I know that this decision comes as a disappointment. Unfortunately, enrollment of new students is limited to a small fraction of those who are qualified for admission. I want to assure you that your application received full consideration by faculty members in the program to which you applied. We appreciate your interest in the Graduate School and wish you success in your future studies. With best wishes,

Had a faculty interview in late Jan.

Interviewed on Jan. 21. Received acceptance e-mail 15 days later. Quick decision. Was very happy to hear so soon.

Not surprised. I interviewed on 1/7/20 and again that week--they were my first PhD interviews, and I was super nervous. A little disappointed, but while one interview went well, I didn't feel the second went so well, and that second interview actually made me not want to work with the POI who was interviewing me. Hoping funding from other accepted programs comes through so as to not have to do this process all over, and I will be happy to go to one of the programs that accepted me if funding does come through!
