Received email from director of grad program that adcom has recommended me for admission!

to the poster from Duke masters on the 12th- I'm really sorry to hear that! That really sucks.. what exactly was the wording on your initial admissions letter? I'm feeling worried now too even though the wording sounds like it's a definite acceptance (it says I was "granted admission" and a financial support package will be mailed to me) and I also got invited to the open house.

So relieved to be accepted, I was worried about my low-ish GPA and GRE scores. Also received a 5k scholarship and 3k assistantship for 2014-2015!

I'm the poster who posted on the 12th with the news that I had been "recommended for admission." Well, sure, the medical physics admissions committee did "recommend me for admission" and I was even invited to participate in an open house of March 6-7 for admitted students (and actually encouraged to purchase non-refundable plane tickets for this open house - which, of course, I did). Unfortunately, the graduate school chose NOT to heed the recommendation of the medical physics committee and they sent me a formal rejection email 5 days after the initial congratulatory email. I'm furious.
