Finally, four weeks after a wonderful visit, great interviews with professors and other students, and what I thought was a lot of enthusiasm for my application, I have received a rather formulaic email telling me I'm waitlisted and asked if I'd be willing to come to CUNY and live in NYC on a tuition-only fellowship. At this point I have a serious offer elsewhere and will remove myself from their odd waitlist, which ranks people within geohistorical and topical areas. Beware: CUNY's admissions process is the absolutely most obscure and tortuous of any process I have encountered in my application season. Prepare to be jerked around if you apply here.

I'm thrilled! A really great fit for me, accepted after interview weekend. I have already told the DGS I will be accepting.

Didn't receive an email, but happened to check my status on the website and found the news. Not overly upset as it wasn't my top program and I have a lot of other programs to choose from but I am a little miffed that there was no email from the department providing an explanation.

Spoke with someone in the office and they said they will probably let everyone know an admissions decision before Easter

Program coordinator responded to email inquiry about status of application. "Unable to accept you into this year's cohort."

Figured as much, but glad to have finally received the email.

Emailed Dr. Tiffiny Tung directly, got back to me in about a minute saying they offered only 6 spots and I wasn't one- oh well!

Not sure about all departments but for anyone in Anthropology - spoke to the department administrator this morning who informed me that ALL decisions on funding have been made, however she is awaiting the list and those who have been offered any kind of funding including Clarendon will be informed over the next week or two, possibly earlier. I hope this helps.

More annoyed that they waited this long to tell me than about the rejection.

No word on funding, website says offer holders will be notified by June though expecting letters to go out by end of April. Has anybody heard of studentships yet?

Originally was on the waitlist (I contacted the department asking about my status) and finally rejected. They said they have heard from a few candidates.
