- Finally, four weeks after a wonderful visit, great interviews with professors and other students, and what I thought was a lot of enthusiasm for my application, I have received a rather formulaic email telling me I'm waitlisted and asked if I'd be willing to come to CUNY and live in NYC on a tuition-only fellowship. At this point I have a serious offer elsewhere and will remove myself from their odd waitlist, which ranks people within geohistorical and topical areas. Beware: CUNY's admissions process is the absolutely most obscure and tortuous of any process I have encountered in my application season. Prepare to be jerked around if you apply here.
