Very interesting on the below. I was also told I'm first on the waitlist (I'm also Nature and Society, and the poster from a few days ago). I have other, better offers pertaining to my area of interest and mostly likely wouldn't accept this if given the opportunity. Just thinking we should alert future applicants to mixed messages and stalled communication from this department.

I knew going in that I was a competitive applicant. I am extremely close with a professor and worked on numerous projects germane to my subject or research topic, contemporary environmental injustice in the United States of America. I too was invited to interview in January. Aside from having great GRE scores and a stellar background, my cordial relationship hurt my chances, in my opinion: be wary of having too close of a relationship with a professor. I also believe that my research interest failed to align with other professors interest, not including the professor whom I applied to work under. On a positive note, my POI emailed me saying I am the first person the school will call if someone chooses to reject an offer (this is specific to Nature and Society). I have, however, decided to accept an offer elsewhere - Berkeley's rival (Blue and Gold). Best of luck to all who accepted their offers, and think about those who the school waitlisted. I'll be rooting for y'all.

Received an e-mail that my decision was ready. It took me to a website with an animated envelope/letter revealing I was accepted. No notice of funding but mentioned funding was still under review and decisions will be released early March.

Rejected for MSCAPP but offered a place on the wait-list for Round II MPP program

Notification about scholarships and assistantship to come later.

Standardized tests are ruining my chance to study policy. What a shame. Low GRE score is definitely the reason for my rejection.
