Accepted, but I've rejected the offer. Good luck to those on the waiting-list; it's cutthroat.

Thank you, nonfiction applicant, for sharing your own experience with The New School. I should have done a better job of finding out exactly how much funding each program offers before applying. Knowing what I know now (that The New Schools offers ZERO funding, that is, they offer “25%” off of tuition, which means that even after being “funded", students are still looking at 80K in debt in tuition alone, not to mention housing, insurance, meals, metro card etc), it makes no difference to me that I wasn’t picked on the first-round. Good luck (and TONS of money) to those who are willing to go there.

To the person who posted a comment bellow asking about The New School: I did the very same thing. Upon seeing everyone else's comments here, I went ahead and emailed the graduate department at The New School and here is the message I received: "Good morning, You application is still under review. We begin sending decision emails in mid-March. Best, Annette Slaughter Graduate Admissions" So rest assured, there's still hope. I'm not sure what the deal is with everyone stating they have been accepted but the official word seems to be this one. Good luck!

Not surprised

Uh-oh -- this was my "safety" school.

Sorta saw this one coming from a mile away, but it was kinda weird how quiet everything felt about it.

Interviewed for assistantship/fellowship, now waiting.

The members of the fiction committee have carefully "review " your application. I wonder if they did that on purpose.

!!!!

Letter came a few days later. No word on funding.
