Got selected into the evening program called Professional Master's Program (PMP) instead of the intended Daytime program. Even though they say the degree is the same MSEE, I won't even be considering this offer.

I have not heard anything from UW. Does anyone know what is going on with their admissions? Their admissions decisions should be by March, and now we are in April.

I emailed them to ask about a time frame and they replied to say I'm technically on the waitlist but, and I quote, "we strongly recommend that you take someone else's offer for your sake." So I'm going to take that as a no, and happily stay in the EU for another two years at least.

Expected, since I have heard that applications to this program is highly dependent on finding an advisor who would take you in.

Physics major medium gpa (3.62) , good letters (presumably), fair amount of research. Grad school is really a sh!t shoot, never be discouraged

Not surprised. BA in Linguistics and Chinese, lived abroad for 6 years working, but weak comp sci background. Was encouraged to apply for their certificate program, but will just accept one of the other offers I have.

Background: BS in Linguistics & French from University of Wisconsin, 4 semesters of Russian, some Ukrainian, some entry level comp sci courses- I spent the last year taking several courses online to strengthen my math/comp sci, completed training + practicum in Language and Literacy therapy for children w/ dyslexia, interested in working with alternative/augmentative communication devices (previous experience working w/non verbal individuals w/ autism). I believe my background working with children with disabilities and interest in assistive technology was big in my favor.
