do we know if they notify fiction acceptances all on the same day?

Since someone already got a call from Leslie Epstein, I think they started notifying today. Well...

Call from Leslie Epstein.

There is one acceptance posted for fiction. However, I doubt its credibility since I saw it posted yesterday with today's date?!

Also going nuts!!

To the poster below: I'm in the same boat...going crazy!!!

anyone heard back for the fiction MFA program? going crazy over here!

For all of you fiction applicants who have been waiting patiently in purgatory, I emailed the department and received this response/unofficial rejection: "Initial Prose offers went out about 2 wks ago. We are still waiting to hear who is going to be coming. Applicants receiving funded offers have until 4/15 to let us know although we are hoping to hear sooner. Some Prose applicants have also received wait list letters/emails. I checked for you and you are not on these initial lists. Since our program is small, it is most likely that the committee will get their class from these two groups of people although since only a couple of people have officially accepted, they will not start letting people know there will be no more offers until they are closer to getting their class, hopefully in the next few days."

Looks like a lot of us got waitlisted. Still hoping to make it!

Great phone call from the director! Full funding and TA-ship! I'm so excited for this opportunity!

Poster, can you share the email you received? Is February 9th when everyone will be notified or just acceptances?

Email to check website. Form rejection letter.

I was accepted to Columbia last year and ... declined. Among published writers who teach there, it's not that well regarded, mostly as a sinecure not as prestigious. To the person who pointed out the rigor (60 units vs. 25 --) that maybe not accurate comparison since it's also three and up to five years plus... HOUSING. Is this "whining"? Or, folks trying to articulate the pointlessness of trying to get ahead vis a vis schools that don't / won't / cant' offer post-graduate employment or, if publication, only probably far down the road? These are ***contests*** people, & the whiff of desperation that you smell here is something like Vegas around 4 a.m. ... cause not everyone's a winner and, sorry to burst your bubble, the game is rigged.

Email from Catherine that fiction decisions should be sent by April 9th. There have been a "whopping" amount of fiction applicants.

Welp, there goes my last shot at full funding :( 1a/0w/8r

bummed - was my top choice :'(

Letter dated March 18. I'm just so so so happy. 1a/0w/4r/2??

Called SDSU. The kind woman informed me that initial acceptances have already been delivered. They are waiting to hear back from those individuals before beginning their second round of acceptances.
