Admission to our program is very competitive, and there is usually no one factor that prevents applicants from being admitted. Our admission committee looks at your individual record such as overall GPA, GRE scores, grades in foundational courses such as calculus and physics as well as courses related to the major area that you applied to. In addition, it is important to understand that there are a limited number of spots for each major area, so your application is compared to the other applicants applying to the same major area. Some areas are more competitive than others due to the number of students applying to a specific area. I hope this provides some context on how we make our admission decisions. We will not be able to accomodate any request for specific details on your application or how to improve your application for the future. The deadline for many of my schools including Berkeley is in 5 days and still no news from Berkeley??? Has anyone heard back from them? Thanks

Does anyone know if the admission extended the acceptance deadline or sent any email regarding the offer deferral due to COVID-19 like many other schools? I have emailed them but still haven't heard anything back.

Haven't heard anything but there's the admit website that says commit deadline is the 15th so not sure whether they've just concluded without sending replies back?

Hi. Has anyone heard from UCSB with a degree objective in Computer Engineering for the PhD program? I have not seen a lot of decisions posted here on GradCafe

Got admitted into EC79 (Computer Engineering Track). Anyone admitted after 25th March gets 3 weeks to decide whether to accept/reject. Few people got admits today too, others waiting for the decision, just wait, many more admits to come according to me!!

Has anyone received decision for MS CSE?

Has anybody applied to the Computer Engineering ( not computer science) department under ECE. I have seen that many students got their results for computer science and electrical engineering but no news for the computer engineering students. Anybody here got any result for MS in Computer engineering ? My application still says " Decision Pending" !!!

Mostly the deadline for accepting the admission is 15th April and I think some admits might opt for other programs, creating vacancies. Previous record shows that EC79 admits can come as late as May. Stay positive!!!

Any updates for the ML and DS track?

I am also awaiting a response for the EC79 track. I have seen only one person here mentioning about the admit from EC79. May be others can also let us know if they have heard anything related to EC79 track
