fellowship + RA + TA for 4 yrs Got admission 2 months ago without funding

I asked the department secretary by email. Was hoping for a better news after such a long time.

We regret that we will not be able to offer you a place in our program. As you perhaps know, our program is relatively small and admission quite competitive. (Between 5% and 10% of applicants in poetry are admitted; in fiction between 2% and 3%.) We try to accept writers whose work is best suited to the strengths and interests of our particular faculty. These are the candidates we feel we can best work with, who will best profit from what we as individuals can teach. It is a difficult process, this selecting, one that makes us decline the candidacy of accomplished and unaccomplished writers alike, and it does not confer a negative judgment upon the work of those whom we cannot admit. We hope you can locate a program that feels it can speak to your strengths as a writer, and we wish you the best with your creative work.

To those asking questions below. For summer, they admit somewhere near 30 students. You can find this information on their website. They send out their acceptance emails in waves (I assume this is the same for Fall admission). For summer admissions, the first wave was at the end of February. I got my acceptance email the first week of March. I declined my offer and have noticed that other people have been receiving acceptance emails every other week or so. I hope this helps.

Just replying to the last post about UCF. I also applied for summer and my portal still says no decision. I go to UCF currently and my professor said they are still doing summer admissions.

Does anyone know how many people are normally accepted for the summer session? My portal still says "no decision" and a few people have already joined the summer Facebook group

I filed appeal when I got rejected in Feb as I believe I am a great candidate for this program but got rejected again...I think they don't accept international students to this program..oh well...I think USF is a very biased unv...

I didn't have great GRE, but graduated with honors from BA, 3.3 MBA, 15 years of work experience in Telecom and rejected...I filed appeal but as I'm International student, don't think I'll be admitted.

Has anyone heard from the PhD program in Biomedical Engineering or Medical Physics? Still waiting...

For those of you waiting to hear about fall, I applied for summer and know others (including myself) that are still waiting to hear back about that. They seem to put you on an unofficial waitlist and send out acceptances as those that are accepted decide to commit elsewhere.

I called them this morning and they told me the same thing for Fall 2016 applicants... beginning to late May we would find out

To everyone wondering when Fall 2016 decisions will be sent out... I just called and they told me May. I hope this isn't true but if anyone else wants to call and see if they get different info that would be greatly appreciated!

For those who were placed on the waitlist for UF, has anyone heard yet in regards to being accepted off of it? I'm not sure how they will go about doing this, very curious.

Has anyone heard from UCF for fall 2016 yet? I have only seen one post saying they were accepted for fall 2016 on 3/18. I'm anxiously waiting!

Anyone else accepted to USF and know of a Facebook page? Looking for possible roommate : )
