Got an email from the PI extending an offer, told me the official letter will be coming next week! This is my first choice so I immediately accepted and am FREAKING OUT!!! Good luck to the other applicants :)

PI called to hear more about my research and tell me about his, invited me to campus and said he was going to ask the area head if he can waive my interview requirement and just send me an offer!

Somehow missed the initial email and received a follow-up today (1/16); very happy with the patience and flexibility of the admissions staff!

After being stuck on 'under review by department' since the end of September I decided to email them yesterday asking for information on the status of my application. They responded promptly this morning with an email that read "Thank you for your email. I can confirm that the Committee has assessed your application, but will not be taking it further. Good luck for the future." My portal status is still yet to be updated.

Interview dates 2/9 and 2/23

Have been in constant contact with an advisor from KI and the NIH. Advisors have both welcomed me into their labs. Prospect of acceptance looks promising. Extremely intense program, very shocked I got to the interview phase. UnderGrad at a private uni (not well known): 2 years of behavioral neuroscience research experience in two labs, worked over 40 hours a week in total for the labs, 7 research conferences (4 first author), 1 publication, a couple of book chapter publications (non-science related), a ton of teaching experience Post-Bac: 1 year of molecular/computational based neuroscience research at a top 3 research institute, 1 publication, attended society for neuroscience Had 3 very strong letters of rec, a very general personal statement and research proposal, and a strong CV In my case, research experience and my LOR outweighed my poor test scores and poor GPA (3.2/4.0)

Interview will be Jan 18-20 on campus.

Interview weekend Feb 1-3.

Notified via email today of an interview for Feb 11/12, they don't pay for travel costs though so I will need to make other arrangements to talk to them as I can't afford airfare!

Notified of an interview via Skype with the PI, interview emails will be sent out with official date for some time in early Feb of 2018.
