- Have been in constant contact with an advisor from KI and the NIH. Advisors have both welcomed me into their labs. Prospect of acceptance looks promising. Extremely intense program, very shocked I got to the interview phase. UnderGrad at a private uni (not well known): 2 years of behavioral neuroscience research experience in two labs, worked over 40 hours a week in total for the labs, 7 research conferences (4 first author), 1 publication, a couple of book chapter publications (non-science related), a ton of teaching experience Post-Bac: 1 year of molecular/computational based neuroscience research at a top 3 research institute, 1 publication, attended society for neuroscience Had 3 very strong letters of rec, a very general personal statement and research proposal, and a strong CV In my case, research experience and my LOR outweighed my poor test scores and poor GPA (3.2/4.0)
