Any update from domestic students? Anyone know if there are admits without interviews? i.e., if i haven't been notified of an interview by now, are my chances quite low? Thanks for listening.

Was a bit of a reach, but I thought it would have been a good fit. Bummer. 3.05 undergrad GPA, 3.97 grad GPA.

I'm actually applying for the geography PhD (same department though). The admissions committee has met quite a few times now. I'm sure it's most pragmatic for them to send out offers to the most attractive candidates, then reallocate the offers that are not accepted to the rest of us. So we might be sitting in that period between these two things happening. International PhD spots are hyper-competitive though so we may be close to quota on those. Don't give up yet. My professor reminded me that there may still be some twists and turns ahead and not all decisions have been made yet. If we haven't received a definitive rejection then we are still on the table- a shaky table- but still on the table.

I haven't received anything. Does it mean rejection?

To the previous and all ECE MASc posters. I talked to an acquaintance of mine who is a PhD student in the department and a former MASc student as well. Apparently it is normal for the process to drag on until June and beyond. Invitations to interviews for the MASc program could come as late as May (according to them). Just thought I would share this information with those (like myself) who are worried about not getting any feedback thus far. Looks like there is still hope for us I guess.

Is it true that professors have made their first round of admissions?

sgs still remains under review, only heard back from MSc although I applied to both MSc and direct entry PhD.

Had an interview last week which was a conversation about my interests and opinions

Had my interview last Monday, got my acceptance today. The interview was very standard. They asked about my interests and reasons for applying. Nothing technical.

I am a Canadian Student (with MSc)

Applied direct entry from undergrad, some of the POIs were mentors of my mentors. Was rejected from the PHD program via an email from Carolyn in the morning, but was admitted into the MA program via an email from the POI that night.

I'm still waiting to hear back too.
