- I'm actually applying for the geography PhD (same department though). The admissions committee has met quite a few times now. I'm sure it's most pragmatic for them to send out offers to the most attractive candidates, then reallocate the offers that are not accepted to the rest of us. So we might be sitting in that period between these two things happening. International PhD spots are hyper-competitive though so we may be close to quota on those. Don't give up yet. My professor reminded me that there may still be some twists and turns ahead and not all decisions have been made yet. If we haven't received a definitive rejection then we are still on the table- a shaky table- but still on the table.
