I was accepted into the program last month and I just received notification by physical mail letting me know that I am on the waitlist for a Teaching Assistantship. Still no word on other scholarships, so either I am not a recipient of any funding or these notifications are sent separately.

Who wants to move to Iowa anyway.

Received an email that I am on a "short" wait list for fiction. 1a/1w/7r/4p

Accepted with deferred admission until January. Waitlisted for July start. Very nice voicemail and follow up call from Debra Allbery. 2a : 1w : 8r : 3p

Lol and just after being notified of being on the NYU waitlist yesterday :))) 2w/6r/3p

Well I am thoroughly confused-- got into and wait listed at other top programs with much smaller cohorts and pretty large applicant pools (UMich was about 1,000). I am trying to focus on that but I am still feeling pretty down. Not trying to be ungrateful, just trying to understand why my application was desirable to other schools with such small cohorts, but not Iowa with a larger cohort. Anyway, I'll be over it soon!

1a/2w/4r its FINALLY over!!

Over half a dozen wait lists. No acceptances. I give up, people. Elvis has left the building.

Welp, I still have some schools out in limbo (all of them have already announced) so I’m hanging my hat with this acceptance. Fully funded for 3 years in poetry. 1a/3r/3p (Cross posted on Draft ‘19)

Holy lord, how long is NYUs waitlist?? General question: is it possible to enter a Low Res program just for a year and then reapply for a fully funded program? Any insight is much appreciated.

Hi all – does anyone have intel on whether LSU has notified everyone accepted? Heard last week that everything would be sent out by today, but I heard nothing and I've only seen 2 acceptances. I'm dying.

Literally thought I wouldn't get in anywhere this year so obviously I'm excited!!!!

thought I should let the good people here know that I called SIU to make sure that the "not received" status of many of my definitely-sent materials was nothing to worry about and was very kindly told they're still working through MFA applications. sounds like they're swamped, so don't panic if you haven't heard anything! I know mid-March feels like the unspoken expiration date on any unresolved grad app hopes and dreams (at least, it does to me), but in this case it doesn't seem like "no news" need be taken as an assumed rejection.

Thank GOD. Thought I was only getting rejections this year.
