I also have yet to hear back from Penn State. After today's round of rejection emails should I be expecting one soon or is there still hope?

finally got the rejection notification. not at all surprised, was expecting this for awhile. coming straight out of undergrad with no pubs didn't give me a great shot. gonna try again after my master's though!! congrats to all accepted

Has any heard from PSU? I've got information that "The initial phase of the admission process has been completed. Your application is now pending review by the program/plan of study admissions committee. Please be patient; you will be contacted by the program/plan of study directly when a decision has been made." Does it mean that the first round of admission has been sent out and i am on the waiting list, or that the department has checked out application materials of all applicants, and is now finding their right guy?

2a/0w/3r /12 It was a longshot... oh well. At least I'm definitely going somewhere this fall. This is my third time applying and first time getting into a school. If there's something I learned in my other two tries is that only applying to first-tier schools is a terrible strategy. Diversification is key!
