Political Theory, admitted off the waitlist. Got an unofficial offer on the 15th, and the official letter came in today.

Only I know how my days are passing by. I have been waiting for months with a tiny hope. It feels like my life is hanging on a fragile thread which can take me down anytime. I cannot take this anymore. If you have another offer in your hands, please please please consider accepting that. This is my only last resort and I am feeling terribly anxious at this point.

Acceptance from Waitlist

GPA is grad. Email that I was accepted off the waitlist. Already committed to another program and will not be accepting.

Admitted after being put on a waitlist.

Surprised, given I was accepted to every other program I applied (including Ivies). Graduated in '19, work experience not relevant to degree. No publications or significant research experience.

submitted my application 11/30/2021 and I have not heard the result until today, 04/15/2022. I was told to wait few more weeks and I took it as a rejection. Ridiculously long and brutal process.

This refers to the MRES/PHD in Economics and Management. I just wanted to post this for future applicants in the next cycle to have a clear picture of the time frame of the decisions on this new program. I put it as my first choice (not regular Econ, and they liked it). I was invited to an interview on the 28th of Jan, which occurred on the 7th of Feb. I was initially told they were going to make their decisions very shortly but then I got an email saying even though I was a strong candidate they received a new batch of applications that they were reviewing (people rejected in Econ). Finally, on the 12th of March, I was rejected. I got a great waitlist at a top 10 school recently so I am happy but this was quite painful. Tips for the interview...they will press you on your research proposal and they will also ask if you would be ready to accept the offer quickly. I didn't say yes seeing as the application cycle had just begun but that might have hurt my chances.

Could the admitted candidates let me know whether they will accept or reject their offer at the EUI? I'm trying to get a feel for how likely it is to move up the waitlist.
