To the poster below asking if I got contacted for funding after thr 21 Feb email - no. I sent an email asking for an approximate funding timeline, they said a first round of decisions would probably be made last and this week.

This sucks. I wanted this so bad, but it didn’t go my way and I failed. I didn’t even get waitlisted which means I wasn’t even close. It’s a stark reminder that sometimes your best is not enough. I have a 1st class degree/GPA 3.95+ (equivalent) from a respected university in Europe, teaching experience at said university, three strong LORs, a SOP which impressed and was reviewed by three Oxbridge alumni, a number of extra-curricular activities highly relevant to the programme I applied to, and two writing samples which I had gotten high marks on previous professors. At least other attractive career alternatives presented themselves shortly before this rejection which cushioned the blow; otherwise, I probably would have felt crushed right at this moment as this has been my primary motivator for the better part of two years. But now, finally, the wait is over; sitting and updating my email for the past 8 weeks has been arguably the most debilitating part of this whole process. I wish I could have gotten this rejection a little bit earlier so I wouldn’t have put my life on hold waiting for a disappointing email, but alas, that is my own fault. I tried and failed, getting rejected can be devastating, but it’s not the end of the world. The only way to move is forward. I’m certain studying at Oxford would have been a pleasure and an amazing experience, but it’s not a ticket straight to happiness and success. There are other ways to achieve that and you shouldn’t let this rejection define you or your future. To everyone who accepted, congratulations. Enjoy and make the most out of your time at Oxford. I can confirm what the poster below who also got accepted on Feb 21 said. My situation is identical: accepted informally several weeks ago and still haven't received my official letter. In the best case, they may be trying to figure out funding and inform us at the time of an official letter. To the poster who got accepted Feb 21: did they approach you regarding funding?

To be relevant posts below. Same waitlisted here, apply by the January 19th deadline. It's really frustrating to receive a waitlist in late March, when other friends have got their offers a long time ago and some institutions are pushing me to respond their offer soon.

Did anyone hear from DPIR about admission to their MPhil IR programme today - Mar 16? Looks like we would have to wait until next week.

Got an e-mail from ODID yesterday, at around 4.30 PM GMT. No word on funding/scholarship nominations in the offer letter. My fee status is Overseas.

Heard back from the recruiter--she said they are waiting to accept/reject based on the people who applied for the March 9th deadline.

Was informed today that my application (Jan deadline) will be reassessed for the next deadline (March). I think this is the first year that EngSci is offering a part time option, so maybe they want to look at more applicants before making a decision.
