ECE to CS.

Very disappointed

I had applied for computer science majors in November. I have a master's degree in Vlsi n embedded systems. Gre score of 307 and Toefl 95. Got a rejection mail today stating Thank you for your recent application to the University of Colorado at Boulder, Department of Computer Science. We received applications from many highly qualified applicants and competition for the limited number of openings was keen. The acceptance rate this year was only 12% of the total application pool and hence the admission was very competitive. We regret to inform you that we are not able to recommend an offer of admission for the fall 2016 semester. Admission decisions are reached after examining the merits of the applicants as well as determining the availability of faculty and facilities.

To the poster below, I call them last week, and I have been told that they needed 4-6 week after your application got completed and once they made their decision they will notified the applicant whether it is rejection or acceptance. Good luck for both of us..

Will not accept most probably. Already got UCSD.

In-state, 3.8 GPA ivy league physics degree with lots of CS/CE. No research. Didn't submit GRE. Feels bad mayn. :(

No word on funding yet

Colorado is full. Email says admitted only 12% of applicants. As a colorado resident with a family i'm pretty bummed I can't get admitted into my state school. Go away everyone.

Asked when the notifications will be sent out. They replied via rather ambiguous "admitted applicants will be notified by the end of march". Also, "if possible", earlier than that. Emphasis on admitted. I assume rejections will be sent out later than that.

British applicant (incl British undergrad). 3 years industry-related work experience.

Pretty bummed. 4 years industry experience, 0 research experience, high TOEFL (115), good GPA, straight from undergrad in Western European country. Might have been the low GRE scores..

I've heard some people on thestudentroom didn't get questions or got them weeks after their completed application. But generally speaking I think everyone gets them. I think they should have changed the questions though tbh, found out some idiot posted them on stackoverflow and quora, they might think we all copied those answers.. The program deadline is this week though, I think I might just accept that I didn't get in at this point.
