GPA is MA - email to check portal

Emailed to check portal. I did not bother to check the portal because I knew I got rejected when my friends received emails from their POIs and the admission committee (several days earlier) ... B.A. from top3 Liberal Art, no MA degree. I guess it is impossible to get in without 1+ MA degrees, no matter how "qualified" you are (in ur own opinion, and in your advisor's). Got to climb the ladder.

Russell Group MA w/ distinction (highest honours in UK), US undergrad double major with 3.74, fluent in second language as preferred by dept, had located a potential advisor working in my relevant subfield (a subfield exactly adherent to the kinds of projects they were asking for this season). Rejected without being offered an interview.

Received a warm reply from POI this morning and the portal status was meanwhile updated. Waitlisted (sigh) but scheduled for another zoom meeting next week. Any idea what this means? how likely would they take people off their waitlist? Thanks!

Email to check portal. Generic letter. 1a/1r/0w/5p

Bummer, but I think they were looking for something very specific this year. Received a kind email referring me to MAPH which I will be declining if I get it.

Received an email to check the portal, which had a rejection decision. Heard this was an exceptionally tough application cycle. Good luck to everyone else who applied!

Checked the portal. Didn't even get an email. meh

Email to check portal.

Didn't receive an email. Checked portal. Not the best fit.

I'm fine with being waitlisted and I knew the competition is fierce (5/140). But: “Very glad to place you on our wait-list” “ it is conceivable that we might be making admission offers as late as June” Do you think you are MIT so I will wait til June and be very honour to be on your wl?
