Email to check portal. Really sad about this one because I thought I had the best chance here.

Received a rejection email stating reasons of 'lack of funding' and a large application pool.

Direct email from Liz Moore and faculty! High on the waitlist and will most likely see movement before the Virtual Open House for accepted and waitlisted students. Will be invited to the open house on campus if accepted by the Virtual one.

I'm writing to let you know that we are not able to offer you admission to Lehigh's graduate program in English this year. We had a particularly competitive admissions pool, with 119 applications submitted for only 9 spots. This means, in short, that we had many more qualified applicants than we were able to accept. We hope that you do not see this decision as a reflection of your strengths as a student and scholar. A number of factors go into making admissions decisions, including the balance of M.A. to Ph.D. students and the distribution of admitted students across literary periods and genres, and often a stellar application simply is not a fit for our department's needs in a particular year. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to read your work, and we wish you the best of luck in your future academic pursuits.

Surprised by this one, as I thought it was a great fit! 3a/1r/2p

Our Graduate Admissions Committee has completed its review of your application for admission and all supporting documents. After careful consideration and significant discussion, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission at this time. I can assure you that your application was examined with care and sensitivity, and no single factor led to the Committee’s decision. Please do not let our decision discourage you in pursuit of your chosen career. Each year, unfortunately, we are unable to include many talented candidates due to the particular goals and constraints of our program. We thank you for the time and effort you took in applying to our program and wish you the best in your future career endeavors.

ok.
