Applied 10/17, got accepted 6 weeks later. My first choice!

This program is corrupt to the core. All the older experienced professors either gave up because they are tenured, or are about to leave to other universities. There is no coherence behind the rules of the PhD program or graduate program in general, so many professors take advantage of the system to abuse their students. There are no protections, so professors can pull funding from their students at any point whenever they feel like. Some professors are racist and select students based on ethnicity and the foreign language ability other than English. Half the masters students could not find jobs last year, so many new masters students are unwilling to join the department. This year TA funding for PhD students was cut drastically. The lack of funding all around is forcing professors to publish fraudulent data. Some of the young professors who don't have tenure cannot secure funding are on the verge of losing their jobs. The lack of funding from masters students, tired older faculty, corruption, racism, and younger professors with no funding is spelling an end to this department.

Submitted my application right before the deadline. Followed up with the MIE grad admission office multiple times and finally got the offer.

Accepted to MEng mechanical. Applied in May 31st. Got asked for Official transcript on June 12th and offer on June 21st

Got the rejection earlier this week. I'm so torn about this school. The faculty was so wonderful and the research was so interesting, but I'm hurt that they would leave me waiting this long without any notification of even being waitlisted (which I think is probably what unofficially happened). It looks like the general final round for acceptances/rejections was right at the beginning of June.

Anyone got admitted to MIE Meng program recently? been anxiously waiting for about 8 weeks :(

Still no word unfortunately. For future applicants: Northeastern's IE faculty are absolutely fantastic and generous people, but their admissions process is very frustrating. I had fantastic and welcoming interviews. A friend who was accepted was given only a ten day window to accept or decline their funded offer. Professors are more than happy to talk with prospective students. I got runaround and nonanswers when I tried to ask about timeline. The point is that there are positives and negatives about the application process. I'd definitely recommend applying, but just know that it is going to involve a decent amount of uncertainty.

Accepted for Master of Engineering Industrial Engineering

Waste of money! It seems that they do not bother reviewing your application, and you have to ask Graduate Admissions about the admission decision. The decision email begins with "Dear applicant"! I thought we name people so they can be called by their names, dear Irresponsible MIE Graduate Office!

to the Mechanical poster below: I applied early Jan and haven't heard back either. Was invited to interview too (it went very well imo). It looks like historically NEU is TERRIBLE with getting back to students in time. I do know that a lot of offers for ME PhD's have been sent out already, but I wouldn't be surprised if you still had a decent shot at an acceptance. I haven't called them since April 10th, but every time I did I just got a runaround and no real answer as to a timeline.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAM! You will not get any funding after your first year, and the professors will abuse you! Any audit will discredit this department's research instantly for academic fraud! The professors will cheat for students they favor!

I was accepted in March 7, and the department told me that they will notified me that in the mid April, they will announce the TA results. I emailed them, and they said that I am not selected for it My Advice: Never apply there
