Interview is on February 6-8th

3.8 Masters GPA. 3+ years full time research experience. Invited for January interview day via email.

4 years total research experience. 2 publications, 2 in preparation. So excited!

TPB: The director told me that they had seriously considered my application (particularly regarding the area that I researched for my masters thesis), but that they had already over-extended themselves by taking on more students than they had originally planned. I discussed other possible routes (I.e. no funding), but in the end, nothing panned out. I received the official rejection letter on May 11. I got into 1 program and was waitlisted at American. I agree...the competition was much more difficult than I had expected. Regardless, that’s great that you got into 2 schools! Good luck to you with your studies!

Didn't receive any email, but I found the rejection letter in the portal.

TPB: I did get into two other programs. Although, I have to admit the competition was much stronger than I anticipated. Please do share what the director says to you.

TPB: Thanks so much for the update. My online application status still states “under departmental review.” Although I would love to hear yes from them, it’s so late in the game I’m just assuming that I’ve been rejected. I sent an email to the director and hope to hear back soon. Hope that you got in somewhere else! Good luck to you!

TPB: I received an email from the dept. stating that they no longer had spots available. It sounds like they're done for this admissions seasons. Subsequently, I've received a rejection letter via online portal. Good luck.

Has anyone received correspondence from UMD? I still haven’t received any notification regarding my application (after the interview)...

Received an acceptance email from grad office, no info on funding yet.
