Accepted off the waitlist. Timeline: applied late November interview invite in January waitlisted in March accepted in April.

Important news for those still waiting to hear on waitlists: in these instances, no news is often good news. 99% of the time, programs will notify you in some way if they do not think they will be able to accept you. If you have not yet been rejected off of the waitlist, there is a chance you may be admitted, probably on the 15th (this applies especially if you have been waitlisted at a ~PGR-25 program and up). The 15th is ALWAYS a shitshow, maybe more so this year due to the pandemic. ALSO NOTE: if you have not contacted the DGS at the program where you have been waitlisted, now is a very good time to do so (be polite, but ask about your chances and when you can expect to hear back).

Anyone heard from Yale waitlist yet?

Low GRE but submitted to Yale. Top research institute in my country (East Asia). Overall GPA 4.22/4.30 Major GPA 4.28/4.30. Four publications in geometry/topology.

Rejected from the waitlist. Asked for a status update in early April and was told they have a higher yield rate than the average, so they cannot offer a spot to the people on the waitlist. SAD:/

I contacted the admin person and was told it's unlikely any offers will go out anytime before the April 15th week. They received only very few responses (rejections or acceptances of offers), even fewer than in previous years. Given that most of the people are cross-admits, I imagine it is the same across the top 10.

Has anyone on the waiting list of these schools been called? Or is it still too soon to hear form them? Thanks in advance.

Out of the universities you mention I think the last visit day is MIT, ending on April 1st. So, there will be potentially more movement after that, which should trickle down to all top 20 universities (and maybe even beyond). Be patient and don't give up hope!

I think that movements in these universities' waiting list can trigger a lot of movement in top 20 universities. I guess that after the open houses, we should expect more movements in those universities. Anyone knows when these universities' open houses are (were)?
