Could someone please tell me if Hollins is still considered to be an excellent program? I've just got accepted and cannot find any recent info on the program. Thank you.

Just emailed the director of the program today about decision release estimation. Here are her exact words. "Hello, Sorry for the wait. It will probably be another 2 weeks." So it looks like early April/super-late March is our best bet.

I turned own UNO because lack of funding. It was all rather funny, really; I emailed the program to give me some update on funding, I got a reply back from the director (Neil)to basically give them my best offer elsewhere to see if they could match it, I replied and he promptly told me he could not match what I was offered at another program. I thanked him for his transparency and said my good-byes. He was very kind thorough, but I am a single mother with two small kids so I must consider funding, unfortunately. I believe UNO is an up-and-coming program and New Orleans is amazing, so don't be afraid to accept.

I've just turned down my offer with UNO. In case you were on the wait list...

I called and was transferred to Leah Falk who told me kindly to be patient, they were reading their way through manuscripts. So at least two weeks ago they were certainly not done yet. Now - I have no idea. Thank you for trying!

In response to the person asking where I saw acceptances: on a FB group 2 people reported acceptances. Then on mfayears 2018 notifications, someone posted a call from them for Fiction (a different person from the other 2 on FB). Maybe someone should call Irvine and ask if they are done notifying? Then we can all move on officially.

Received a lovely email telling me I was on a waitlist for the 5 fiction spots. 1a/6w(!!!)/3r/3p.

Received email this morning; standard reject. Also applied to FSU, Nevada-Las Vegas, and Ohio University (not OSU). All for PhD (Fiction). I know FSU let admits know weeks ago; anyone heard from Las Vegas or Ohio?

I've seen 2-3 acceptances for Irvine fiction in different places this year (around March 2-8). So not sure if that means they are done notifying acceptances...Anyone receive a wait list notification yet? I wish they would let us know soon.

Oh, PLEASE call! And ask about Fiction, too! I already called two weeks ago so I cannot call again :(.

Just called and was told mfa candidates would be notified "sometime next week".
