Wait so... have all the acceptances for CS PhD gone out by now?

For those who have not heard back: does your application still say 'under review'? I'm unsure if they have sent out any rejections at this point.

Standard notification, saying that they're impressed with my application and believe that I can succeed in their program, but can't admit me now due to high number of applications (I think this is because I'm not a Canadian citizen and they don't have that much funding for non-Canadians). Also said they won't be able to admit wait-listed applicants till April.

It is said that "Past experience suggests that we will not be in a position to admit applicants from the waitlist until April". A lot of competitive applicants were also mentioned.

I received the exact same email (like what is posted below) from the head of the department.

April is so far away :/

Waitlisted. Got an email from POI: I hope you're keeping well and safe. The Admissions Committee of the Department of Linguistics was very impressed with your application to our program and we believe you have the qualifications to succeed in our program. We have received a high number of competitive applicants this year and we are unable to admit all qualified applicants. At this point we have placed you on a waitlist for admission to our Ph.D. program. Past experience suggests that we will not be in a position to admit applicants from the waitlist until April. We would be grateful if you could keep us updated about your other offers, or let us know if at some point you are no longer interested in receiving an offer of admission from Toronto.

Got an email from the department which says they usually won't admit waitlisted people until April

TTPB: I honestly don't have much information - an admin person emailed me saying I'm on the waitlist and they'll let me know if anything changes. Unclear how many people are on the waitlist and how many spots they have.

Could you share some information about the waitlist? I was not aware they had a waitlist and instead conducted admissions in rounds.

I'm not sure if you meant me, but my GPA is not amazing, currently 3.74 (in my semester of undergrad rn at UofT). I have one publication and three or four conference presentations. there was no interview. I did my undergraduate degree at UofT and I'm canadian.
