To the two posts below: are you on the waitlist as well as being admitted to the MA, or directly rejected and offered master program?

I got rejected from the PhD program but got an acceptance of the MA program with 50% tuition fee scholarship.

I have declined these two offers (BU earlier this week). Good luck to everyone on the waitlist!

Offered admittance into their MA program instead.

What a troll email. It starts out: "Your application for admission to the Ph.D. Program in the Department of Economics at Boston University has been favorably reviewed" before saying "At the present time, however, we are unable to extend to you an offer of admission for Fall 2021, but we remain very interested and have placed you on our waiting list" yeah okay that was a wild 2 second emotional journey. At least it's a WL and not a Reject. Might email them and ask about wait list size and stuff.

Sad :(

I expect that anyone who has not received a waitlist now is an IR.

Simple email, much details. Can anybody share some detail on the offer they got from BU?

No interview.
