Old IIT Undergrad. 9.5 ish GPA. 2 top tier papers. Rejected after an interview which felt went well

MPhil in Modern European History, 1850–present. Definitely did not expect the acceptance. I know that I botched my essay (sample of work), as it was essentially a first draft with not only minor errors, but also one or two sentences in the conclusion that were convoluted and, upon deeper reflection, didn't actually make any sense, PLUS a large part of my argument I have come to disagree with following further reading and research. My argument was simply naïve given some simple facts I later came to discover. However, I do feel that my personal statement (and research proposal) was strong, and at least one reference was beyond amazing (the other two should also have been great, just haven't read them). Final GPA is 3.94, though from a very small, unheard of private university in Prague—it doesn't even appear in the pop-down menu of universities when filling out the app. form. Though it does have WSCUC accreditation. Studied a broad Humanities degree.

TPB: Honestly I am too scared to call them. I sent them an email to ask about remaining decisions, but they haven't responded. If someone else calls for general info about remaining decisions, *please* post here. You'd alleviate a lot of stress :)

International applicant. Double majors in Physics and Astronomy from a Big Ten School known for their STEM programs. 1 first-author publication in hep-th.

TPB: GPA: 3.6 from an international university, GRE Quant: 168, got into a few UK/Canadian Masters and US PhD programs. Best of luck! TPBB: Unfortunately, no - they told me I would receive an official letter this week. I'm sure if you ask them directly, they'll let you know.

Received a rejection at 2 AM UK time, after seeing other econ master students been rejected, I haven't expected I will be admitted. TOP30 UK Econ UG with average degree mark 82(maybe top5% in my class), TOP5 UK econ master. I really do not understand why this programme is so selective, in terms of placement and faculty's connection with the US top school, LSE and UCL's MRes are much better than this.

TTPB: Haven't posted on here yet. I finally gave in and emailed Oriental Studies dept. about the long response time. Auto response says they are working remotely and might not get back to me for some time. Will post if I find anything out.
