Anyone hear from NYU lately? Heard they sent an email earlier this month informing students they can expect to hear something by 18th April. I was on the put on the waitlist on 10th March and haven't heard anything from them since. TTPB: No one knows how long the waitlist is and how many people make it.

How many of the wait-listed people get admit usually? I see way too many people are on wait-list this year. When can we expect to hear back from them?

Got the e-mail notification just after midnight. Applied on 1/15, so about 3 months from submission.

TTPB: Bro why don't you put yourself in their shoes? It would probably take them no more than an hour to go over your application like you said. And they just don't want to release the decision to reject you yet. Heard nothing by April 15 while other applicants already got admitted and/or interviews? You can just take this as a rejection and move on with your life and have a plan B somewhere else. Simple as that. If you are in the waitlist then yeah I can understand. But if you are not even in the waitlist, bashing the school in Gradcafe solves nothing lol

Generic Rejection. "Due to the limited number of spaces and the number of applications received, the final selection must be limited to those applicants with the best overall qualifications. This is a highly competitive process and your application was not selected on the basis of competition."

Anyone else still waiting? Why wouldn't they send a rejection by now? De facto waitlisted? Is there hope? Any information would be appreciated.

I'm absolutely annoyed, frustrated even, by the response of top colleges like NYU and Columbia. I applied to both these colleges for MSDS in mid-December and still haven't heard shit from them. NYU atleast sent a mail that they'll probably release decisions around 18th of this month, but Columbia? Nothing, not a peep. I get that NYC is the epicentre of the COVID-19 outbreak in the US, but students who applied to other programs in these colleges are still getting decisions? 4 months man, how much more time do you possibly want to go over an applicant's profile (which should take no longer than 1 hour)..All this leaves candidates no choice but to wait, something which is irritating the shit out of me.

An international student from India. GRE 324, TOEFL 112. IIT-Delhi. 1 patent and 1 conference paper in an unrelated field. I was asked to apply for the MDS-CL program and have a deadline in just 7 days. Should I apply for this program? There are whole new application fees and other requirements.
