Rejection after my 2nd time applying even with an MA. The competition is getting crazy and maybe I'm just not cut out for this.

email to check the portal. so sad... they did not give me an interview so maybe I should realize the result earlier.

Condensed Matter Theory, Theoretical Physics Track, interviewed in Jan, I thought it went well lol. Doesn't hurt that much because got into other good places.

Contacted poi before application. Perfect match. Still rejected after two interviews.

Applied to the History and East Asian Languages (HEAL) program and alas now I need some healing. Congrats to those admitted!

Good luck for the rest of you and congratulations to the ones who got accepted!

Applied for quantum information PhD, have 4 years of astrophysics research, 1 REU, 1 nonrelevant publication, Master's in Applied Math (~3.8), plus research experience in quantum at gov't lab.

Major (MES) gpa 3.96, 0a0w2r1p, I am not sure if this is the right path anymore. In shock, but I get it that a lot of applicants are highly qualified. Many had a MA degree in the Middle East already, I think I will be applying to schools in the Middle East now. rn 4th year MES major, a couple grants, one departmental award, provided a writing sample that engages historical primary sources in one middle eastern language. Non-native speaker, studying in one of the UCs. Two year arabic, three year ish Persian.

Whatever. GPA is grad. No email.

AMO-exp. Undergrad in Engineering. 2 years research experience, no pubs. Interviewed Jan. 26, didn't go particularly well.

the head of the department called me directly!!! i got the email/portal confirmation a day later

Ignore Status. Any word from Harvard, Columbia, Rutgers, Syracuse, Notre Dame and Boston University?

The happiest person in the world today!
