To the Physics poster below: don't know if the law poster who posted earlier today got covid update re: “active applications”, but I did. I was waitlisted back in mid March, still haven't heard anything besides the “active application” email.

To the LAW post below, Are u the one who received Covid Update Active application last week?

Is anyone aware of whether Clarendon decisions in law have been notified; or more generally, whether any funding decisions from the law faculty have been announced? (Last I heard was that decisions would not occur at earliest end April, early May.)

Have been waiting it for long. Interview in March and finally received an offer from Oxford :)

Hello. Has anyone received an official admission letter from the CDT Mathematics of Random Systems? I was told by the program director of my admission six weeks ago, but so far did not receive any official offer with the full funding promised. Could the virus/crisis revoke admission and/or funding for F20? Thanks a lot, have a nice day!

Has anyone heard anything about doctoral studentships? Specifically about the Open Oxford Cambridge Doctoral Partnership ? Were things delayed because of Covid-19 ?

I am a European citizen (which might have helped with the studentship I was offered). Applied on January 24th. Got notified to plan for an interview on February 18th, had the interview on February 24th, and got offered a position with a studentship on February 26th. I officially accepted the position on March 12th.

TTPB i dont think so; there are post below that was confirmed as strong candidates but even without interview. There might be US preference over Oxford, but that does not explain everything at all.

TTPB: my guess for the reason why the applications are still open is simple: there are simply more places available than the qualified and accepted students, which means if it is open you still have a chance to get in (especially considering there is no funding available at this point). The professor told me that the top (in terms of their internal ranking system to determine scholarship) CS students they admitted often decline the offer and go somewhere else (he mentioned some US unis I am not gonna post them here). They simply need more students. If you are interested and have enough money or external funding for four years, I really suggest you just apply.

DOA said that the result will be updated around the end of April

TTPB: to clarify, I have received an email stating "As you currently have an active application for graduate study ... we are writing to give you an update on the support the University is committed to provide to applicants" in light of COVID. The email ends with "good luck with your application." Presumably they still haven't decided whether to admit or reject?

TTPB: What does it mean having ACTIVE application mentioned in this email?

Waitlisted on March 19 and received a generic email on April 14 re: Covid updates (email was sent to all applicants with "active" applications). Anyone else in this situation? What is the timeframe to let waitlisted candidates know whether they are accepted or denied?

Mathematical Physics. Re-evaluated (=waitlisted?) on Mar/05/2020, rejected on Mar/22/2020. Got into the Theoretical Physics PhD program, though.

TTPB: If you don't mind, can you please share your profile? Also, the applications are still open for CS PhD at Oxford. Any merit in applying this late?
