Does anyone have any information or stats on getting accepted from the waitlist?

Had a pre-interview with POI on 11/30, got an official invititation on 12/16

Invitation to the virtual graduate student recruitment day on Feb 4, 2022 from the department.

Interviewed via zoom

Had an informal Zoom interview with PI after Thanksgiving, received an email notifying me I would be invited to formal recruitment weekend in February. Official invitation from the graduate program coordinator to come within the next week.

Contacted by the PI, an official invitation will come latter that the interview will be at early Feb.

Got email from admissions committee said has recommended my admission

Admitted. 3.7. Covid semester, so didn't need to take GRE.

The program is for Fall 2022. I got an email for an interview. The dates I was given are Jan. 20-21. They don't know if it's in person or not yet.

Never received an admission decision despite being invited to interview weekend and staying in contact with grad coordinator. Finally got a notification to check the portal and nothing has changed. I assume I was rejected, and I've already accepted a spot elsewhere anyway. Honestly this is disappointing and extremely unprofessional-- it reflects badly on the PI and the program as a whole when they ghost applicants. If you were on the fence about applying, know that this could happen to you, too.

Replying to the question below: I first got an email saying my application status has changed. Logged onto my status and saw “admitted”. Also I'm able to view the offer letter on my status now, but it still doesn't have much detail other than saying you're admitted. I'm international.

TTPB: Did you get any update on my status website or just a postal acceptance?. Also are you a domestic or an international applicant?

This is super late notification. And the worst part is they offer letter link is glitching right now so I can't see any details yet. Going to accept regardless

Got email to check portal. DICE Track. Admission denied. Do they take very less students in the DICE track for MS ECE. Because other tracks seem to be getting admits which are not so competitive.

I received an email to check MyStatus. I had my fingers crossed, but it seems as though this year wasn't the right time. I will work in the meantime and reapply next year. I really do hope to improve the delayed results. Three months after is pretty late to be receiving results, especially since people aren't sure whether to apply to full-time positions or wait to hear back.

I mailed Barry 2 times. The first time he sent me a generic email stating that the result will come out within few days. After some days I mailed again, and this time he stated that I am being rejected. I am talking about the most awaited DICE track's decision. ALL THE BEST TO THE REST OF YOU GUYS. My journey ends here.

I highly recommend that you save your application fee, and do not apply to UT Austin's ECE program. Not only do I feel it is not transparent with its criteria, but took the latest among all colleges to apply. Seriously not worth it. All the best!
