To all who are s**tposting about NYU admissions, please stop. At this point, nearly 1/3 of the total Italian Studies results for 2021 are post-interview NYU worries. It is normal to wait for results after an interview, which sometimes take weeks to issue. There are hundreds of students who check this page for...admissions results. If you cannot wait any longer, just email Prof. Refini to learn your final result. Your inability to voice your concerns on forums has done a great disservice to this feature, and has also greatly annoyed several applicants (which I learned after speaking with them) who are waiting just like you to find out their futures.

I thought fellowships were announced today, but I haven't heard one way or the other. Has anyone confirmed their funding?

3 years of undergrad research experience, one publication, decent GPA and GRE scores, great letters of rec. Generic rejection email. I have to say, I was hopeful after seeing the previous rejection posts. Possibly was on a waitlist, but ultimately rejected. Disappointed.

Was emailed a pretty standard email about the waitlist

Received a personal email from a department administrator explaining that, though I interviewed well, they would be unable to extend an offer of admission due to an extremely competitive applicant pool and a smaller cohort due to Covid-related budget concerns. The department saw a 50% increase in applications this cycle, so I was honestly happy to even make it to interviews. Congrats to those who were accepted - I hope we'll cross paths during our studies!
