To the previous poster: It is absolutely insane this year. Less than 3% admission rate for a programme that's not even automatically funded. It's hard not to feel destroyed but it is what it is.

Y'all should know its okay to just not feel bad about this one. It's okay to not be in the top 3 to 4%. But srsly bro. Wtf. The masters was my safety choice. I already have an MPhil degree. Not even shortlisted. Alright time to let this go.

5 min presentation + 20 min Q&A with a 3-person panel

Got invited to a virtual interview with a general admissions panel and one proposed supervisor, asked to do 5 min presentation on research proposal using PowerPoint.

Contacted POI in September and submitted the application in October. Interviewed by POI and another professor on 3rd December, conditional offer received on 18th December. Still no info about college and funding. Accepted the offer yesterday, but will probably withdraw if funding doesn't work out well. Background: two recommendations from US universities and another one from home university (probably strong); an conference abstract published and another awaiting author notification, a journal manuscript under preparation.

TPB: Oxford system is quite slow in consolidating the application and the payment. If I remember correctly (I applied 2 years ago), it took 2-3 days before my application status was changed to submitted. Don't worry, as long as you have the proof of payment email, that should suffice as a proof that you applied.

The interview will take place next week. I wonder if I can get any information about the interview from candidates who have taken the interview before? I am particularly interested in the technical questions that will be asked such as what questions will be asked? Thanks!
